I've read several on these lists, but at the moment, I am telling people about "In This House of Brede" (I may have been the one who put it on the list). It is PHENOMENAL. I cannot rate it highly enough! It was written in the 1950s, and is on the level of "A Gentleman in Moscow." So, so good.
